Anupama Verma, the lovely doe eyed Leoean, is an MBA in Marketing and Finance from FMS. So all you guys, who think beauty and brains don’t go together please rethink!! This Delhi girl with her enviously thin figure and stunning, yet, fragile looks was spotted by photographer Shantanu Sheorey, when she was in the ninth standard and got her first assignment for Digjam Suiting opposite Shekhar Kapur. A break as a VJ with channel V brought her to the city of arc lights Mumbai. And she appeared for the first time on small screen in the TV series ‘Aankhen’.
She has been a cover girl for many leading Indian magazines, modeled for a cartload of products such as Fair and Lovely, Siyaram, Harry's collections, Pantene, Lipton, Monte Carlo and featured in many music videos like "Boom Boom" in which she looked absolutely gorgeous. She really made lots of hearts go Boom Boom in that Biddu video. She also appeared in Bali Brahambhatt's romantic melody with Bikram Saluja "Tere Bin Jeena Nahin" apart from the "Lara Lappa," the Bhangra pop video.
Having graduated from the music video,s she signed "Grahan" opposite Jackie Shroff in his home production. Little did she know that the road she had embarked upon was paved with flint-stones. Soon after the film went on floors, the producer went bankrupt and "Grahan" was shelved for an indefinite time. Bound by contract, Anupama could not sign other films either. As the arc lights on "Grahan’s" went off a star got eclipsed before it could shine.
Unpredictable and strange as it may seem, this Braun-Silk Epil girl with silken charms is still the longest standing debutantes in Bollywood waiting for years to make her debut in tinsel town. She was most recently seen in the Mahesh Manjrekar’s Pitaah and had a small role of a sex worker in Chameli with Kareena Kapoor in the lead role. Let’s see if her forthcoming film ‘Mohabbat Ho Gayee Hai Tumse’ opposite Sanjay Dutt and Chandrachur Singh can do any good to her.
